Minister Couldn’t Stop Talking

This minister just had all of his remaining teeth pulled and new dentures were being made. The first Sunday, he only preached 10 minutes. The second Sunday, he preached only 20 minutes.
But, on the third Sunday, he preached 1 hour 25 minutes.
When asked about this by some of the congregation, he responded this way.The first Sunday, my gums were so sore it hurt to talk.
The second Sunday, my dentures were hurting a lot.
The third Sunday, I accidentally grabbed my wife’s dentures… and I
couldn’t stop talking!

Proverbs 2:6

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” (Proverbs 2:6)

So much of my life was spent in learning. And learning is a good thing. But at one point, I began to question what I had been studying and was it of any value to anyone? I realized that there were more hours than I cared to think of, wasted in trivial garbage, stuff that didn’t help anyone. Useless stuff taking up space in my head. Then there were some things that could have been helpful, if I had actually done something with the knowledge.

When I began studying God’s Word, I soon realized that there is a difference between wisdom and knowledge. Anyone can gain knowledge, but the wisdom to know how to use it and what to use it for can only come from God.

In a world where knowledge is growing in giant leaps, I pray that we will seek God’s wisdom in what to use this knowledge for. Amen!
